Liverpool’s injury storm got worse because Naby Keita really had to be sidelined for a while. Will this stir the hearts of the owners of the Reds to buy players?
Liverpool was in a limp condition during a visit to Old Trafford, Tuesday (24/8/2022) early morning WIB, having lost 10-11 players due to injury. As a result, Liverpool lost with a score of 1-2.
Of a series of injured players, most are dominated by midfielders such as Thiago Alcantara, Curtis Jones, Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, and finally Naby Keita. Keita was actually declared fit to play against Manchester United.

However, a few hours before kickoff, Keita’s name was not in the team. It turned out that Keita had a muscle injury so he had to miss at least until next month. This condition clearly makes Liverpool frustrated.
“We still have to do further checks on Keita, but that doesn’t mean he can train tomorrow. We will check again, but don’t know when the results will come out for sure,” Klopp told the club’s official website.
Because, Keita was injured again when the team needed him. So it’s only natural that there are rumors that Liverpool want to sell him instead of being busy taking care of Keita’s injury.
With a week left in the summer transfer window, Liverpool are in a rush to bring in their target players, such as Jude Bellingham, whom Borussia Dortmund cannot afford to let go, or Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
However, it will backfire for Liverpool if they do not look for alternative players following the current midfield crisis. Regarding this, Klopp’s answer is still the same, namely the transfer depends on the club owner in this case John W Henry and Tom Werner.
If it is felt that a transfer needs to be made, then Klopp will gladly accept the arrival of his target player.
“It’s difficult to answer (whether Keita’s injury can change Liverpool’s transfer plans)… I’m not the right person to answer that,” said Jurgen Klopp.
“As a manager, it’s only natural that I want to have more fit players.”
