To which channel or platform should you turn when you are a football fan? Of basket ball ? Of tennis ? Motorsport? Not always very easy to navigate between the (many) existing subscriptions. Here is a little guide to find it.
As every year, we offer you a summary of the different platforms and channels broadcasting sports, to help you find your way through the jungle of subscriptions. Canal+, Prime Video, BeIN Sport, TF1… There are always more broadcasters, with more or less full offers. Which subscription to choose for your favorite discipline? How much is this going to cost you? This is what we are going to dissect in this dossier.
Our methodology is as follows. We explore the disciplines one by one, with the details of the competitions when known and the total price for someone not wishing to miss anything of this sport. At the end of the article, we come back to each of the platforms mentioned with their prices and what they include. Useful if you prefer to choose the most complete subscription rather than multiply subscriptions.
This list is obviously not exhaustive and will evolve depending on the allocation of rights or the popularity of certain disciplines. Follow the leader !

In the field of European broadcasting rights, football is undoubtedly the sinews of war. Object of all desires, the round ball is logically found among the disciplines broadcast by the most platforms. Last year, Prime Video, for example, won most of Ligue 1, right under the nose of historic broadcasters like Canal+.
This year, the encrypted channel has rectified the situation by recovering a large part of the rights to the three European tournaments, while depriving RMC Sport of English football. The latter will also broadcast continental meetings. The other major championships such as the Spanish Liga or the Italian Serie A will be like last year on BeIN Sports. The Free Ligue 1 application allows you to consult match summaries for free and watch the matches almost live for €3.99 monthly (offered to Free subscribers).
Finally, remember that 2022 is a World Cup year – even if it takes place from November 20. If you want to see all the matches despite the deplorable conditions in which the tournament is organized this year, you will need a subscription to BeIN Sports. TF1 will however broadcast 27 of the 64 matches: 16 posters from the first round including the three from the French team, five round of 16, three quarters, the two halves, the match for 3rd place and the final, scheduled for Sunday December 18 .

Where to watch basketball?

To watch NBA matches, the premier basketball competition, there are two solutions: the BeIN Sports subscription, which remains the official broadcaster in France and offers 14 matches per week, or the subscription to the NBA League Pass which allows you to see all matches at rather prohibitive prices. In September also takes place the Eurobasket, which will be shared between Canal+ and M6 (for the matches of the French team).
In France, the first men’s division, aka Betclic Elite, is still in the dark. Last year, BeIN Sports and France 3 recovered part of the mid-season matches, while the National Basketball League (LNB) launched its own OTT platform to broadcast all matches. Discussions are said to be underway to maintain the the state in whichwe should know more soon.
The Euroleague is in a similar situation. Last year, it was L’Équipe TV which hosted certain meetings of the continental competition. It also offers its own platform, EuroLeagueTV.

Where to watch rugby?

If there is one sport that remains constant from year to year, it is rugby. Canal+ remains in charge of French competitions this year, while the Six Nations Tournament remains with France Télévisions – which will also offer the friendly matches of the XV of France. Barring a huge surprise, the public service should continue to co-broadcast European competitions with BeIN Sports, which should retain the majority of European Cup and European Challenge matches. As for the Women’s World Cup, which will take place this year in New Zealand, it will be the prerogative of TF1.
Note that since last season, the English championship has been offered on the Rugbyzone.tv platform, in addition to other competitions from Ovalie.

Where to watch tennis?

Tennis fans have known for a long time now that Eurosport leads the way with the little yellow ball. With two Grand Slams, all the Masters 1000, the ATP Finals and many other contents, it’s hard not to find what you’re looking for… unless you’re a fan of women’s tennis. In which case, you will have to rely on BeIN Sports, which also has the Wimbledon tournament, the ATP Cup (a much-maligned replacement for the Davis Cup) and the prestigious Laver Cup.
We could therefore only count on Eurosport and BeIN to follow tennis. But since 2021, Prime Video has joined the party, and by winning not just any tournament, namely the much appreciated Roland-Garros. The internationals of Paris are shared between the Amazon service for the night sessions and the Simone-Mathieu court and France Télévisions for the rest.

Where to watch cycling?

Cycling is shared fairly fairly between France Télévisions and Eurosport. The Tour de France is also present on both channels. The Chaîne L’Équipe also offers a few races throughout the season.

BeIN Sport remains in charge of most of the handball events of the season: the French first division, the Coupe de la Ligue, but also the next men’s world championships in January 2023. On the other hand, the Champions League remains the preserve of BeIN Sport. ‘Eurosport.

Where to watch motorsports?

Over the past two years, Canal+ has gradually become the reference channel for motorsport. It broadcasts, among others, F1, MotoGP, W2C and IndyCar. Facing it, the competition distributes the remains.

Not necessarily as watched as the other sports mentioned above, US football must still have a certain number ofaficionados since the NFL, the great American professional league, is shared between two PAF channels. BeIN Sports thus broadcasts the season in its entirety, including the famous Superbowl, while L’Équipe TV is content with one match per week.
