Dear Colleagues,
This year, 243 very talented children received an invitation from the sports department of the state capital Düsseldorf to the Talentiade, which takes place on August 20th and 21st. In a sports course in the triple sports hall of the Dieter-Forte-Gesamtschule, the children can try out eleven Olympic sports, in which constant support from childhood to peak performance is possible in Düsseldorf. These include basketball, soccer, handball, hockey, judo, athletics, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis and water polo.
Britta Zur, Alderman for Citizen Service and Sport, will welcome the invited children, parents and trainers

Background: Talentiade
The Talentiade is a support measure in CHECK’D – the Düsseldorf model of movement, sport and talent promotion – for children who are particularly talented in sports. Since 2003, the sports department of the state capital of Düsseldorf has been determining the sports motor skills of all children in the second school grades as part of the InCHECK’D test. After a two-year break due to Corona, the Talentiade can take place again. In the past school year, due to the protective measures against Corona, 2,618 children could be tested in a representative cross-section and the results evaluated individually. All children are invited to various follow-up activities. At the Talentiade, parents also have the opportunity to talk to experts from the various sports.
