The women’s softball U-13 team from Navarra was proclaimed this weekend champion of the “European Massimo Romeo Youth Trophy – EMRYT”, an international championship approved in the official calendar of the World Baseball Softball Confederation- Europe Division, and for which 8 teams from 6 different countries traveled to Collecchio, a small town in Parma.
The team began its journey in the tournament with a victory against the Croatian Princ by 8-5, in a game that they came to lose by 1-5 in the third inning. In the afternoon, the team prevailed over the host, Italy, in a historic victory that gave a lot to talk about in the Championship and that already showed everyone that Navarra was a team to take into account. At the same time, the Jourds Prague instilled fear that day.
The second day left a lime, with the defeat against Italy (1-6) and the victory against Jourds (7-2). On matchday three the Czechs prevailed (5-4) and Navarra clearly beat Princ (2-10).
Already in the final, Navarra faced each other again against the Czechs, whom they won 4-0.
