2K just unveiled new features and updates for NBA 2K23 The W. The W will now feature new playable versions of the WNBA All-Star game, WNBA jerseys, community challenges and the Commissioner’s Cup.
This year alone, NBA 2K23 The W is bringing 60 WNBA player jerseys from multiple seasons, and all are coming during the first season.
Here is the full list of new W mode features:
- Community Goals: Each Season has six weekly goals that the community can work together to achieve. If the community can achieve the common goal in four of this season’s six weeks, each NBA 2K23 player will receive a reward**;
- League Expansion: As you level up to the maximum level of 10 in League Popularity in The W, two Expansion Team slots will be unlocked. From here, players control how the league expands. Choose the city, build the arena, create the logo and design the uniforms.
- The W Rewards: New content and epic rewards including WNBA jerseys, logos and Coach MyTEAM cards are exclusive to W Online. Players can show off their jerseys, brand new historical gear and more at The W and The City;
- Game Changers: Game Changer status is awarded to players who invest significant time and effort to reach the community goal. Game Changers get exclusive access to rewards like Team Takeover Boosts and the ability to imbue other players in The W Online with Player Boosts;
- Contact Challenges: As players progress through the mode and socialize, they will receive challenges. These challenges require players to circle specific games on the calendar, team up with new players in contact training sessions, aim for season-long stat goals, and stretch their game in new ways;
- All Star & Commissioner’s Cup: For the first time in The W, players have the opportunity to form the All-Star team and participate in the All-Star game and the Commissioner’s Cup;
2K also announced the new game mode NBA 2K23 MyNBA Eras. This game mode allows players to start a new MyNBA save at any point in NBA history and either refresh or rewrite key historical moments in the history of the sport. However, this feature will only be available in the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 versions of the game.
NBA 2K23 is currently available for pre-order through the game official site and is scheduled for release on September 9, 2022.
