Real Sociedad transfers the Swede to the English team, thus becoming the most expensive sale in its history

Newcastle takes Alexander Isak after presenting an irrefutable offer to Real Sociedad. The ‘txuri urdin’ club thus loses one of its most important assets, seven days before the end of the transfer market. The Swedish striker leaves transferred to the English team for an amount that amounts to 70 million euros, thus becoming the most expensive sale in the history of Real. The figure could be increased to 75 million because there are five million more in variables, in addition to the fact that the Basque club reserves 10% of a future sale, irrevocable conditions.

Newcastle have been after Isak all summer and have made a formal offer for the Swede. La Real has agreed to accept it considering it round for his interests and will go to the market to reinforce the forward, since right now they only have Jon Karrikaburu as a specific center forward after Carlos Fernández’s injury. The ‘magpies’, despite everything, had Portuguese Joao Pedro from Watford on their radar, although they ruled out his arrival.

Isak leaves after beginning his fourth season as a Real Sociedad player. The striker arrived from Borussia Dortmund in an operation that finally amounted to 10 million euros, so Real recovers the investment in an absolutely brilliant way.

In the main floor of Anoeta they are already working to incorporate a substitute for Isak with seven days to go before the market closes. As of today and for Saturday’s match against Elche, Imanol Alguacil only has Jon Karrikaburu available as a center forward, since Carlos Fernández is injured and will be KO for almost two months. Take Kubo and Mohamed Ali Cho can play at a given moment of ‘9’, although the first alternative should be the youth squad.

The president of Real, Jokin Aperribay, and the sports director, Roberto Olabe, have been warning in recent weeks that “the market is a living being”, and with the arrival of money from a Saudi fund, Newcastle has finished bursting the market. It should be remembered that one of the best strikers in the world such as Erling Braut Haaland has ended up at Manchester City after the English paid 60 million to Dortmund, ten million euros less compared to the pharaonic transfer of Alexander Isak.
