Nicaragua falls in its debut in Williamsport

The selection of Nicaragua fell 2-0 to Curaçao on Wednesday in its Little League World Series debut in Williamsport and Pennsylvania.

Despite a magnificent start by Luis García for Nicaragua, the Caribbean team produced the first run in the top of the second inning thanks to Jaylliard Emperador’s double.

Curaçao’s second score came in the final inning on a single by Kyshore Hinkel. First baseman Hinkel became one of the best hitters in the Curacao’s offense.

Nicaragua was off thanks to the great pitching work of right-hander Davey-Jay Rijke who pitched 5.1 innings of work for two hits and struck out 14 pinoleras offense. Rikje struck out almost the entire Nicaraguan field with the exception of leadoff hitter Johan Saravia.

The only hits for the pinoleros came from Luis García who linked a double and Johan Saravia who singled to center field in the bottom of the sixth chapter.

Right-hander Garcia showed his quality on the hill of heart attacks by throwing 5.2 innings of work for 6 hits, 2 earned runs and striking out 10 Caribbean batters; this being a quality opening. He also recorded 75 mph throws throughout the game in Williamsport.

Nicaragua now he will have to wait for the loser between Mexico and Puerto Rico who will play this Wednesday to meet his next rival. While the Curazaleños will play against the winner of the match mentioned above.
