The preseason of the best league in the world known as NFL with victories of New York “Football” Giants visiting before the Patriots and for their part the Baltimore Ravens won their twenty-first in a row in preseason by defeating the Tennessee Titans.
There will be interesting games to follow in this pre-campaign and I mention this because there are players who are under the microscope for this next season and what better way to give us an idea of what we can expect after the games that we will see in August.
Players to watch in pre-season
No more excuses for Tua, with the acquisition of Tyreek Hill along with Jaylen Waddle, he’s one of the best the NFL has to offer as a receiving duo. Additionally, the Dolphins brought in running backs Raheem Mostert from the 49ers and Chase Edmonds from the Cardinals who along with tight end Mike Gesicki have the offensive potential to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season. For this to happen the former Alabama QB has to take that step that the Miami fans are waiting for, otherwise we could be seeing the end of what was the fifth overall selection in the 2020 Draft.
Last season the 49ers reached the Conference Championship with Jimmy Garoppolo as QB. The 2019 season they were close to winning the Super Bowl, both games could be won with a good performance from the QB in the important moments.
Weeks before the 2021 Draft, John Lynch, General Manager of the team, bet on an All trade to send three first selections to Miami for the third general selection in which they selected Trey Lance.
The team is ready to win, they have one of the best defenses in the league led by Nick Bosa and Fred Warner and on the offensive end there is Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle. Lance had little activity in his rookie year, however, he now has the full support of the organization and is the clear QB1 even if Garoppolo is still on the team.

The Saints WR1 missed last season due to injury, we still haven’t seen him play with Jameis Winston. The Saints is a team that can take the division away from the Buccaneers, recently we have witnessed how they have completely dominated them in the regular season. However, to achieve this and be a contender in the NFC, the Saints need Michael Thomas from the 2018 and 2019 seasons, when he had 274 receptions, more than 3,000 yards and 18 TD’s. If we can see a similar version, pay attention to this team.
Pickens’ collegiate career was cut short by an injury in training with the Georgia Bulldogs in March 2021, although he played the final four games of the season as Georgia won the National Championship.
In 2019, in his first year with Georgia, he was part of the “SEC All Freshman Team” by finishing the season with 49 receptions and eight touchdowns.
The Steelers selected Pickens in the second round of the last draft and it seems that this selection has been worth it since the reports in Pittsburgh is that he is breaking it in the training camps and I would not be surprised that in the future after the departure of Juju Pickens becomes the WR1 over Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool
