After beating Zurich Challengers 7-0 in the morning, Wesseling Vermins were beaten 6-3 by SK Joudrs Prague in the second game on Wednesday at the European Premiere Cup in Bollate/Italy. Joudrs quickly took the lead in the first inning. Wesseling briefly closed the gap to 2-3 in the third through RBIs from Brittany Barnes and Masha Meloni. But Prague immediately followed suit. An RBI double by Lara Brockmeyer brought the Vermins 5-3 in the fourth inning. But it wasn’t enough and the Czechs finally made it 6:3. Milena Böttger scored twice for Wesseling. Audrey Pickett and Hannah Held pitched. On Thursday, the Vermins are challenged twice again. At 9 a.m. against CBS Rivas and at 1:30 p.m. against Olympia Haarlem.
