Talavera Basketball continues to take steps ahead of the start of the season, in which it will participate in the West Group of the LEB Plata, whose first match will be on October 8 against Algeciras at the Primero de Mayo Pavilion.
If until now the club had announced who will be responsible for the sports field, announcing the arrival of Guillermo Rejón as sports director and Ricardo Uriz as coach, this week the chapter on player signings has begun, with the confirmation of David Bottenberg and Jesus Castillo.
Bottenberg is a 25-year-old, 203-centimeter power forward from the United States. He played at the highest collegiate level (NCAA I) for four years at South Carolina State University. Last season he crossed the pond to Europe, bound for the Portuguese Proliga, where he played for MAIA Basket, averaging 15 points and 9 rebounds per game.
For his part, Jesús Castillo is a young 23-year-old Spanish forward, who triumphed in his formative stage at Unicaja Málaga and arrives in Talavera after passing through the American university for the last 4 years, playing for Missouri and also for Illinois, where he demonstrated his ease as a triple scorer, since his name has already been marked for the history of both universities, after becoming one of the best three-pointers that have passed through their courts, with averages above 45%.
Over the next few days, Basketball Talavera will continue to reveal the names of the players who will be part of this new project this season, who will be summoned on September 1 in Talavera to be under the command of Ricardo Uriz and start the preseason .
