Tejero and Ferrández place Borja on the sports map

Borja once again boasts of athletes at a national and international level after being the best summer in history for two of his best representatives. The impressive work carried out by Arancha Tejero and Claudia Ferrández has borne fruit in competitions in Spain and worldwide.

On the one hand, Arancha Tejero became the 10K world champion in Tampere (Finland) and runner-up in the 5K world during the first fortnight of July. The golden woman was received in her city, with honors from her and the accompaniment of a beautiful Campoltoro decorated with smiles from her neighbors who wanted to dedicate words of gratitude to her for putting Borja’s flag on the map once again. She was received by the municipal corporation, family and friends along with her husband Roberto García, a teammate.

For her part, Claudia Ferrández, well known by the residents of the region for her sporting successes in archery, won the Spanish Team Championship along with her teammates Ana Pedraza, Paula Díaz and Samanta Unamunzaga. In addition, the borjana was key in the victory since she participated in the final shooting of six arrows (two each of the three members, being Ana the captain) in 120 seconds. In addition, she was proclaimed champion of Spain in mixed teams with her teammates Gonzalo Linares and Javier Cerezo shooting four arrows between the two in 80 seconds.
