Per police said thank you
Thanks to all actors and organizations
The 9th Wetzlar Police Show has developed into a wonderful family celebration. At the Pro Police Wetzlar stand alone, 1,000 children’s high-visibility vests were distributed free of charge, and unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Will order more next time. Many young people took the opportunity to find out from the Hessian police, the federal police, the armed forces or customs about the great career opportunities that exist in each case. The wide range of children’s programs was also very popular. The DRK’s bouncy castle, the youth fire brigade with spray wall, the police’s bicycle course, the judo club’s demonstration, the children’s high-visibility vests, the THW’s climbing wall, to name just a few, were real eye-catchers.
With the most wonderful weather – maybe a bit too warm – there was a folk festival atmosphere. The helicopters were constantly surrounded, especially since you could also take photos. The SEK task forces also took the time to be photographed with children and young people. The state police orchestra played perfectly sweeping rhythms. Partially sitting in the sun, this was quite an achievement. Practically all information stands, all hands-on stands were surrounded. Great interest also in the spectacular arrest by the SEK, the dog demonstrations, on the one hand the rescue dogs of the DRK Dillenburg and on the other hand the service dog demonstration of the Federal Police and the Central Hesse Police Headquarters. It’s unbelievable what these animals are capable of after proper training.
The grandstands in the beautifully situated stadium were well occupied. Four drink stands, two food stands and two ice cream vans completed the offer for physical well-being. A wonderful, harmonious, peaceful and happy as well as informative family festival, that’s how you can characterize the 9th Wetzlar police show, which ended successfully with the departure of the Eurocopter of the Hessian police and the helicopter of the Bundeswehr.
Thanks to all actors
It is not a matter of course that around 350 volunteers spend a whole Sunday serving a good cause, on the one hand to advertise their own organization and on the other hand to offer information and attractions to the population. From the start of assembly to the end of dismantling, it took about ten hours, preceded, of course, by internal planning and considerations, exercises. This also takes time. Therefore, a heartfelt thank you from Pro Police to all those involved:

Thanks to Minister of the Interior Beuth and Mayor Wagner
A special thank you goes to the Hessian Minister of the Interior, Peter Beuth, who, as Minister of the Interior, once again kindly accepted the patronage.
Thanks also to Lord Mayor Manfred Wagner, who has already promised to use the stadium free of charge for the 10th police inspection in 2024
The stadium is excellently suited for such an event, the location is ideal, and Wetzlar is also very centrally located in Hesse. His thanks also go to all those involved in the police show. Police President Bernd Paul praised the work of the independent and non-partisan citizens’ initiative Pro Police Wetzlar, which contributed a great deal to mutual understanding between the police and citizens. He recalled that in the early years in particular, the police were very happy about some technical donations that would have made their work much easier. Today, fortunately, they are very well equipped overall. Nevertheless, there are still smaller requests, and Pro Police make an indispensable contribution here. The same applies to the prevention efforts, which have been expanded in recent years.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chairman Hans-Jürgen Irmer thanked everyone involved, thanked the state and the city for the great support, which is often not seen, because the infrastructure facilities also have to be right for such a major event. This goes from the sanitary facilities to garbage cans to cleaning. Everything worked perfectly. His thanks, according to Irmer, go to the sports department with Wendelin Müller and Sven Lehne, who supported the event very unbureaucratically.
With so much praise and so much support, people are already looking forward to the 10th edition of the police show, although it should be noted that the 9th police show was at least briefly considered in the Hessenschau for the first time.
