The 24 hours of basketball return to Vila-real in its 41st edition by the Peña la Merla

Vila-real will celebrate the XLI edition of the 24 hours of basketball, a competition promoted by the Peña La Merla with the sponsorship of the Sports Department of the Vila-real City Council. The event will be held on August 27 and 28 in the Bancaixa pavilion and will be completed with the XIV Triple Contest.

“From the City Council we want to congratulate the Peña La Merla and thank the work they do to maintain this tradition for 41 editions since they created the tournament in 1981, being the oldest and a benchmark in our regions and also helping to defend our brand. as a City of Health and Sports”, affirms the Councilor for Sports, Javier Serralvo. The mayor recalls that this event has become a tradition that welcomes the patron saint festivities in September.

The first game will be on Saturday the 27th at 2:00 p.m. and from that moment on, the qualifying matches will be played until the final that will take place on Sunday the 28th at 7:00 p.m., followed by the awarding of the trophies. In addition, that same Sunday at 4:30 p.m. the XIV edition of the Contest of triples will be held. At the moment, there are 12 teams registered to participate, who will play a minimum of 3 games and a maximum of 5 games during the course of the 24 hours of basketball.
