Los municipal sports centers Andrés Estrada and Diego Lobato have become this summer a meeting point for numerous minors in the city who, during their school holidays, are going to these sports facilities in the capital to participate in different summer schools and urban camps that revolve around sport.
This Monday a new cycle of the second edition of the Montessori Basketball Summer School-La Orden, from which 75 children from the capital between the ages of 5 and 16 benefit, and which will last until August 19. This campus has become a very important tool for integration and conciliation, as was seen in the development of the first part, which took place from July 4 to 29. It is a completely free school, which has also caused it to have had enormous acceptance among Huelva families and that it had to hang the ‘complete’ sign from the beginning. Already last year it was held with a total of 50 registered and this time the number of places has been increased given the high demand.
The Huelva City Council sponsors this Summer School with financial resources and also makes the modern facilities of the Montessori School available to the Montessori School. diego lobatowhich has a perfectly equipped pavilion not only to host major basketball and other sporting events, but also to carry out educational and recreational activities, always hand in hand with great education and sports professionals.
The Diego Lobato is also a fundamental sports facility in the neighborhood of La Orden, which also stands out for being one of the largest sports centers in the province, and which the current government team was in charge of completely rehabilitating, modernizing and making it totally accessible.
From the Huelva City Council, the facilities of the Polideportivo Andrés Estrada to the Enrique Benitez Basketball Club for the launch of the Berano Campus with B for Basketballwhich has small groups, divided into two teams, with 15 children each, which are distributed according to the ages of the participants.
Thanks to this initiative, which was also held in these municipal facilities last summer, the minors are being able to learn from great basketball professionals, from Huelva who are also ensuring that the students enjoy the most this summer with their deportation favorite.
The mayor of Huelva, gabriel crossaccompanied by the councilor for Citizen Participation and Sports, Maria Theresa Flowers, has made visits to the classes and has seen first-hand the good progress of the different programs that are being developed in the municipal facilities. Cruz stressed that “from these sports centers the boys and girls of our city are having the opportunity not only to enjoy healthy leisure during their school holidays, but also something as important as improving their skills and practicing sports, acquiring all those values that are linked to sports activity, such as teamwork, fair play, camaraderie or mutual help, among many others”.
The Diego Lobato is hosting the Huelva Swimming Club Camp. An urban campus that takes place from June 27 to September 2 and includes many activities, such as team sports, theater, crafts, modern dance, Zumba, swimming, gymkhanas and nature classes.
This camp is directed by the Huelva Swimming Club monitors and is the result of the work and effort made by a large group of professionals from Huelvaspecialized in education and free time, with many years of experience in the capital.
In this way, in addition to promote grassroots sportcollaborating with the educational task of the participants, offering the possibility that they can enjoy and learn from different playful activities such as games, songs and workshops, actions that contribute to an enrichment in their personal and social maturation, adapting the programs to the different ages and abilities of the students enrolled.
Compared to other campuses where modernization prevails, in these the playful section is the most important, given that the priority is to offer meeting spaces throughout the summer season that allow promoting healthy coexistence among minors, with sport as the axis.
