The Media Veda begins in Castilla y León this August 15 and will end on September 18 ✔️

The hunting season known as Media Veda will start in Castilla y León this coming MondayAugust 15 and will conclude on Sunday, September 18.

During this period, the hunted species will be the quail, the quintessential species of this time, as well as the magpie, crow, rabbit and fox. From August 25, you can also hunt the wood pigeon and rock pigeon.

The working days for the practice of hunting in the Media Veda are set directly in Annex II of Law 4/2021 of July 1, on Hunting and Sustainable Management of Hunting Resources of Castilla y León, being the Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and national and regional holidays.

Regarding the maximum number of pieces to be charged per hunter and day, ORDER MAV/1007/2022, of July 29, which establishes protection measures for game species, published in the Official Gazette of Castilla y León on 11 August 2022, establishes a maximum number of pieces to be charged per hunter and day of 25 specimens for quail, in line with the maximum quota set for the previous season. In the case of the common turtle dove, this season will continue to be unable to be hunted.
