Uldričis and “Cambuur” destroy; other Latvians come to the field for a change

The Netherlands

“Cambuur” from Leeuwarden, represented by the striker of the Latvian national football team Roberts Uldriķs, won a devastating victory in the Dutch championship on Saturday. “Cambuur” beat “Sittard” 4:1 (0:1) in the away game.

Uldriķis, in the role of captain, went to the starting line-up and played the entire match. The home team took the lead in the tenth minute after a shot by Burak Yilmaz, to which the visitors responded in the second half with Michael Bray’s “goal” in the 47th minute, two goals by Mäs Hudemakers in eight minutes and Jasper ter Heide’s goal in the first minute of stoppage time.

“Cambuur” is in eighth place after three games with four points. Last season, the team represented by Uldrikais took ninth place in the Dutch Super League with 39 points in 37 games in the competition of 18 teams. The Latvian striker made his debut in the Dutch Eredivisie Championship at the beginning of October when he came on as a substitute, scoring a goal, but in total he scored seven goals in 20 games. The striker of the Latvian national team has signed a contract for two seasons with the possibility of extending it for another season.

Norway

The midfielder of the Latvian U-21 football team, Eduards Daškevičs, came on as a substitute in the game of the Norwegian football top league, or “Eliteserien”, on Saturday, when his team “Hamarkameratene” played a draw with the previous season’s champion “Bodo”/”Glimt”. “HamKam” played 2:2 (0:1) away to “Bodo”/”Glimt” in the 19th round match.

Dashkevičs entered the game in the 77th minute. Amāls Pellegrino put the home team in the lead in the 40th minute, but in the 54th minute the visitors countered with an accurate pass by Hasan Kurucaj. In the 72nd minute, Pellegrino scored his second goal of the game, realizing a 11-meter penalty kick, but in the 86th minute, Paul Kirkevolls scored a draw for the guests after a pass from the Norwegian footballer with Latvian roots, Aleksander Melgalvjas Andreasen.

In the tournament table, “HamKam” takes 13th place in the competition of 16 teams with 20 points in 19 matches, while the champion takes second place with 38 points. The Latvian footballer joined the Norwegian club in August of last year, signing a contract until the end of 2022. Before that, he was in the system of the Belgian club Brussels “Anderlecht” from the age of 16.

Germany

The midfielder of the Latvian national football team, Daniels Ontužāns, spent 71 minutes on the field in the German third league match on Saturday, helping the “Freiburg II” team win. The Freiburg team won 1:0 (1:0) against the players of “Viktoria” from Cologne in the fifth round game at home.

Ontuzhans started in the starting line-up and was replaced in the 71st minute. The only goal was scored by Robert Wagner in the 43rd minute.

The home team earned seven yellow cards, while the opponents – only two. After five matches, the Freiburg team is in fifth position in the standings with ten points. Last season, “Freiburg II” took 11th place in the German third league.

Slovakia

Andrejs, midfielder of the Latvian football team Ciganik went on the field for a change, but the Streda “DAC 1904” team he represented lost in the Slovakian championship game. Streda’s team lost 1:3 to “Trnava” club.

Ciganik entered the field in the 46th minute of the match. A short while later, “Trnava” doubled the advantage (2:0). The Streda club were unable to capitalize on the majority the team gained when home defender Martin Mikovic earned a second yellow card.

“DAC 1904” occupies the third place in the Slovakian championship table with 11 points in six matches.

Italy

The “Parma” team, represented by the Latvian striker Dario Šita, played a draw with the “Pelugia” team 0:0 in the second championship of Italy, or “Serie B”.

This was in the team application, but did not go to the field.

“Parma” is in 10th place in the Serie B table with two draws in two matches.
