What programming at Vendéspace for this season 2022-2023 ? This Monday, August 29, 2022, the Department of Vendée unveiled the various dates to remember for the sporting and cultural events that will take place in the enclosure based in Mouilleron-le-Captive.
sporting events
Eight major dates are on the agenda for this new year. The first is approaching with great strides since it concerns Vendée Tennis Open, which will take place from Monday 3 to Sunday 9 October 2022. This tournament is an important meeting of the ATP challenger world circuit. It will stand for the 9e consecutive time at the Vendéspace. More than 25 players from the world’s top 100 will play on the Vendée court. French Richard Gasquet has already announced its presence.
In February 2023, the young prodigies of the archery will compete in the French championship from February 24 to 26, 2023. 400 young archers from around 200 clubs will compete on the 50 targets installed in the enclosure.
eSports, the novelty
Two months later, the Department will welcome a new discipline for the first time: eSports. The Vendée Gaming Days will actually take place on March 4 and 5, 2023. Several amateur and professional tournaments will be organized, including a competition bringing together the best players in France from ELigue 1 Tour. A village will also be accessible to the public throughout the weekend. The event will be organized in collaboration with the football district of Vendée.
On April 22 and 23, the French Cup youngest and wards of karate kata will be another appointment not to be missed.
From May 18 to 21, the Vendéspace will become the gathering place for basket with in particular the mini-basketball festival, the school basketball operation and finally the traditional finals of basketball cups and challenges.
A fortnight later, the handball will be honoured. Indeed, the eight best teams in the department will compete in the finals of cups and challenges, during the weekend of June 3 and 4.
The following week, place at the Rhythmic Gymnastics with the federal trophy on June 10 and 11. Finally, the European stick twirling championship will close the Vendéspace sports season. The 400 competitors from the 14 nations present will take part in solo, duo and group events.
Cultural events
This year, the Department of Vendée has chosen to honor musicals. So the show Naturya will take place on Saturday, November 19. This ode to nature will bring together nearly 30 artists on stage to raise awareness of the climate emergency, respect for nature and the planet.
On December 4, place at Tom Sawyer ! This musical tells the story of this carefree young teenager who dreams of freedom and adventure.
A third performance will be held on Sunday March 19: The mysterious cities of Gold. This show was nominated for the Molières 2022 for young audiences. Estéban, Zia and Tao are just waiting for you.
Among the other significant dates, remember the cine-concert Gladiator LiveWednesday, December 7, 2022 or the concert of the jazz star Melody Gardot who will perform four days later on the Vendéspace stage, on December 11.
