The Minister for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado reported that after a meeting with representatives of the Venezuelan Basketball Federation (FVB) and the Professional Basketball Super League (SPB) a solution was reached to allow players of the national team dispute the criollo tournament.
Through his Twitter account, he explained that to guarantee that “our National Team athletes play in the Professional Super League, there will be a break in the schedule during AmeriCup.”
“Today I win the Venezuelan basketball, thanks Mervin Maldonado for mediation and looking for the best for basketball. God’s timing is perfect,” said the base of the Venezuelan Basketball Team, Gregory Vargas, who had been affected.
For his part, the forward of the Vinotinto de las Alturas, Michael Carrera thanked the effort made to reach the agreement, “thank you very much, all for the improvement of our basketball”.
