Barakaldo is moving in the right direction based on meeting the high expectations that are placed on the club this new season. The factory workers start out as one of the main favorites for promotion in the Third Federation due to the highly competitive squad they have formed, after the great economic injection provided by the new investors and the work of the sports management led by Joseba Núñez and the technical plot under the orders of Imanol de la Sota. The results of the preseason have also been in line with the aspirations of the people of Baracal.

Currently there are a total of 22 footballers in the Gualdinegra squad. These are: Jon Tena, Gorka Campo, Iker Pedernales, Iñigo Ariztimuño, Jonan Obeso, Mikel Castrillejo, Markel Artetxe, Aymane Jelbat, Altair Reyes, Aimar Sagastibeltza, Jon Urkiza, Julen Barrón, Ekaitz Molina, Bittor Isuskiza, Julen Huidobro, Iker Montes , Imanol Torre, Endika Buján, Urki Txoperena, Unai Arieta, Iñigo Orozko and Xabi Cortezón. The manufacturers have completed a good preseason in terms of results. So far they have won three games, drawn another two and only lost one.

Later, they got a resounding 3-0 victory against Arenas de Segunda Federación, with a hat-trick from youth squad Iker Hierro. In the third friendly match came the only defeat against Gernika by 1-2 with a goal by Unai Arieta and to close the round against the Biscayans from the Second Federation, they drew 1-1 against Sestao River with a goal by Bittor Isuskiza.

Afterwards they have taken on two games against rivals from the División de Honor such as Getxo and Sodupe, who have settled them with victory. The first of them 2-1 with goals from Xabi Cortezón and Imanol Torre. Last Wednesday, they played the last friendly match at the Hurtado de Saratxo and won 0-1 thanks to an extraordinary goal from Julen Huidobro from a direct free kick. Now Barakaldo only has a friendly against Urduliz next Saturday, before kicking off the league on Saturday, September 10 at 5:00 p.m. at home against Aurrera Ondarroa.
