Judokas from BC return full of medals – La Voz de la Frontera

With a total harvest of 12 medals, the athletes, Keneth Rivas and Santiago González, who competed in the national judo tournament, called “Professor Daniel F. Hernández”, returned to Baja California.

This event took place in the Dome of the CODE Sports Center in Alcalde, Jalisco; with the participation of 500 athletes from all over the country.

At the head of the Baja California delegation was coach Manuel Antonio Reyes Pando, with eight judokas from Tijuana who attended under his coordination.

In total, 2 gold medals were won in the men’s 9-10 years category, with Kenneth Rivas Hurtado in the -28 kilos division, and the second gold medal went to Ángel Santiago González, in -35 kilograms.

Both beat the host fighters with an “ippon”, which is the most possible to become two-time champions.

In addition, there was a silver medal for Gael Llanes who competed in +35 kilos in the same category, also three bronze medals, one in -42 kilos in the 11-12 year old category with Hidan Téllez, as well as two others with Carlo Haro and Julio Ávila in the -44 and +64 kilos divisions of the 13-14 year old category.

Good performance had Fabián Motolinia who got fifth place, the same as his partner Mario Mendoza, but in -53 and -64 kilos, respectively in the category of 13-14 years.
