“Lielvārde/Fat Pipe” starts the championship with a loss to “Valmiera”
One match of the ELVI floorball league for men took place tonight at the Valmiera Olympic Center, where FBK “Valmiera” hosted the team “Lielvārde/Fat Pipe”. In the first half of the game, Valmieri already gained a decisive advantage (5:0), but in the final result they celebrated the victory with 6:4. Daniels Urbanovičs and Matīss Salminņš scored two goals each for the winners.
FBK “Valmiera” hosted a principled opponent – the team “Lielvārde/Fat Pipe” on its field. Already during the first period, Valmiers took the lead with 3:0, Matīss Salminņš, Guido Lauga and Kevin Šmits each scored a ball into the visitors’ goal. In the middle of the game, the home team’s advantage became overwhelming – 5:0. Only in the second half of the match did the giants score a goal. By the second break, Patriks Cinītis and Nik Blumfeld reduced the lead of the Valmiera team to 2:5. Although not without difficulties, FBK “Valmiera” still protected its handicap and could celebrate the victory with 6:4 at the beginning of the championship.
The best player award went to Richard Riba, who had one assist in this match. Two goals each for his teammates Daniel Urbanović and Matīs Salmin, 2 (1+1) points for Valmiera club debutant Kevin Šmit. Nick Blumfeld, who has 2 (1+1) points, was recognized as the best among the big players. Exactly the same number of points for his teammate Oskar Tūtans.
