CF Montreal seems to want to make peace with some of its most fervent supporters by reopening section 132 of the Saputo stadium which was closed.
Section 132 is traditionally reserved for the Supporters’ Association (ASUPMTL), which includes the Ultras Montreal 2002 and affiliated fan groups.
In a publication on social networks, the club’s management indicates that the section will be animated by groups and independent members wishing to reinvest the platform in a passionate, respectful and safe manner.
The section will be open on Friday for the match against the Columbus Crew.
The Montreal club had justified its decision to close this section because of “repeated acts of violence, verbal and physical aggression, intimidation and vandalism, as well as the frequent use of smoke bombs, incendiary devices and other pyrotechnic items unauthorized”.
