The Third Test of the Italy Judo Trophy. About 280 athletes belonging to 108 sports clubs from all over Italy were present for the event dedicated to the national circuit reserved for Beginners B, the third of five races of the Italian Trophy. The event was organized by the judo sector of the Puglia Regional Committee, in collaboration with La Palestra, Uisp Valle d’Itria and with the support of the Puglia Region and the Municipality of Martina Franca.
First place for rookie B female category -57 kg goes to Modica, conquered by the athlete of Mifune Judo, Giada Sammito. The pupil, trained by M. Daniele Alfano, won the Gold medal at the end of 4 exciting matches.
In addition to Giada, 3 other Mifune students competed in Martina Franca: Giordana Sammito, Federico Galfo and Alessandro Carbonaro.
For the 4 athletes it was the first race after the stop dictated by the pandemic.
The new year is off to a good start for the Modicana Judo school, which this year celebrates 10 years of activity and which in recent years has brought important medals and awards to the province of Ragusa.
