More than 7,000 square meters of exhibition space and more than 60 activities make up FERCATUR 2022

The National Hunting, Fishing and Nature Tourism Fair (FERCATUR 2022), which will be held from September 23 to 25 at the Ciudad Real Fair Pavilion, will have a total of 70 exhibitors, more than 7,000 square meters of exhibition space and 63 activities for all tastes and for all ages.

Organized by the Ciudad Real Business Federation (FECIR CEOE-CEPYME) with the sponsorship of the Ciudad Real Provincial Council and the collaboration of the Ciudad Real City Council, the Castilla-La Mancha Community Board, Impefe and Globalcaja, this fair will return to become a benchmark for hunting activity and a meeting point for professionals and amateurs.

This was indicated by the president of FECIR CEOE-CEPYME, Carlos Marín, during the presentation of this edition, in which he assured that “the objective of this fair continues to be to promote the importance of the hunting sector and nature tourism in our province. and in our region, through an event for all audiences, but which at the same time increases its professionalization”.


FERCATUR 2022 will have 70 exhibitors, including companies from all over Castilla-La Mancha, Madrid, Extremadura, Castilla y León, Andalusia, the Valencian Community and Galicia, as well as an exhibitor from Pakistan. Among the sectors that will be represented, we find armories, hunting gastronomy, hunting clothing, cutlery, optics, vehicles, security, hunting crafts, hunting management, animals, fishing and hunting articles, organic and taxidermy.

In addition, there will be the presence of several municipalities that have wanted to bet on this showcase to promote themselves as tourist destinations linked to nature, as is the case of Ruidera, Valdepeñas, Argamasilla de Alba, Saceruela, Almodóvar del Campo, Pedro Muñoz, Argamasilla de Calatrava, Villanueva de los Infantes and Solana del Pino, in addition to the City Council of Ciudad Real.


There will also be stands from the Provincial Council and the Community Board or from associations such as Ática, APROCA, Artemisan, Castilla-La Mancha Hunting Federation, AMFAR or AFAMMER.

In parallel, FERCATUR will have a complete program of activities with more than 60 proposals for all tastes and for all ages, “forming a great party around the hunting sector”, as Marín pointed out.

As novelties, this year the rehalas return, family cooking activities are incorporated, the Museum of Hunting and Nature of Ciudad Real will be presented and there will be a wide repertoire of falconry activities with flight exhibitions of birds of prey and hunting with ferrets in majano, and even an introductory workshop on falconry will be included. Likewise, tribute will be paid to the singer-songwriter Patxi Andión and there will be a parade of hunting clothing that is the leader in the sector.


In addition, traditional activities that are very well received are maintained, such as the showcookings by the three finalists of the ‘Beccus’ National Game Cooking Contest, such as Diego Morales, from Restaurante Señor Pérez; Andrés Rodríguez, from Cocktail Gourmet Restaurant; and José Daniel Fernández, from La Abuela Cándida.

There will also be presentations of books such as ‘La Montería. My experiences’ and conferences on ‘Women with hunting’, hunting and health, the bill on animal welfare and modification of the criminal code on mistreatment, the partridge, the dissemination of hunting through social networks or ‘ The book of the Montería de Alfonso XI’, among other topics. Likewise, on Saturday, September 24, at the Vicario Reservoir, the IV Sport Fishing Contest will be held, organized by the Castile-La Mancha Fishing Federation and the Ciudad Real Fishing School.


FERCATUR 2022 continues to promote awareness and for this reason it will once again have children’s activities such as the children’s workshop ‘Conservation of fauna for curious minds’ or archery. In addition, schools will be able to attend the exhibition of self-defense and dog training by the Ciudad Real Civil Guard Command.

The program is completed with permanent and interactive activities such as a virtual shooting simulator, an exhibition of hunting trophies, another exhibition of hunting paintings by José Manuel Exojo, an exhibition at the Ciudad Real Hunting Museum, an exhibition of rehalas of hunting, and an exhibition of diurnal, nocturnal and scavenger birds of prey.


The president of FECIR, Carlos Marín, has thanked all the people, organizations and institutions that make this fair possible, “who position themselves without hindrance in favor of the hunting sector and who contribute to maintaining a sector that is vital for this land from the economic, social and cultural point of view, but also from the point of view of environmental sustainability”. Lastly, he encouraged everyone to visit FERCATUR 2022, “a long-awaited event for all hunting and fishing fans, but also for the general public, who can come and learn more about everything that surrounds this sector and enjoy the numerous activities that we have prepared”.


The Hunting, Fishing and Nature Tourism Fair will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on both Friday 23 and Saturday 24 September, and from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday 25 of September. Admission to the fair is free and open. The deadline to register for activities that require prior registration, such as showcookings and workshops, will open soon.
