With the objective of closing the continental tour in the best way, the judo senior team is ready and motivated to face the third date of the Pan American Open, which this time will host Bogotá, Colombia, on September 24 and 25. , an event that will distribute points in the Olympic classification ranking.

The Sports Palace of said Colombian city will open its doors to more than 160 athletes, 104 men and 59 women, from 20 countries, who will seek to close the continental tour with a flourish, after stops in the Dominican Republic and Peru, and where Mexico achieved favorable results with the harvest of 18 medals between the two events.

The team is made up of 12 men and nine women, who polished technical and tactical aspects in the Villas Tlalpan gym, of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports (CONADE).

The women’s team is led by the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympians Edna Guadalupe Carrillo Torres and Prisca Awiti Alcaraz, who will take to the tatami in the -48 and -63 kilogram weight divisions, respectively.

Meanwhile, the team is led by Moisés Aarón Rosado del Ángel, Arath Juárez Silva and Luis Alberto Damas Martínez, who will participate in the -60 kilos division; Robin Sergio Jara Arana, -66 kilos; Ulises Méndez Cobos, in the -66 kilos; Gilberto Cardoso Martínez, in -73 kilos, and Eduardo Araujo Castillo, -73 kilos.

They also add: Samuel Ayala Rodríguez, -81 kilos; Ángel Alejandro García Torres, -90 kilos; Diego Damian Diaz, -90 kilos; Alexis Armando Esquivel Herrera, -100 kilos and Sergio del Sol Peñuñuri, in the +100 kilos.
