Big in Sports » Scott Harris is the new president of baseball operations for the Detroit Tigers
The Detroit Tigers, in the midst of a rebuild that aims to put together a competitive project in the future, named Scott Harris their new president of baseball operations for the organization.
Harris is in his third season as general manager of the San Francisco Giants, after coming to the franchise in the 2019 campaign. MLB.com recalls that the Giants, in their first two years under Harris’s tutelage, recorded the third best winning percentage in the majors at .613 (136-86).
Harris has a long career as a manager in the Major Leagues, working 7 years with the Chicago Cubs. The manager was part of the team that put together the 2016 World Series champion roster, the first in 108-year history.
The Tigers have a lot of good young pitching and some star-level positional talent. Their lack of a step forward this year caused the change in the front office, and Harris joins manager A.J. Hinch, AGMs Sam Menzin, Jay Sartori and David Chadd to form a very strong braintrust.

Harris will surely take the reins of the sports plan of the Tigers from the next campaign, the last of Miguel Cabrera for 32 million dollars, which will mark a before and after in the present of the Bengalis.
Detroit recently fired vice president and general manager Al Álvila after 20 years with the organization. The Tigers have undoubtedly begun their cleanup going forward.
