Setback for Lonzo Ball! Bulls-Guard is out again for weeks

The Chicago Bulls once again have to do without Lonzo Ball for weeks. The guard has to have an operation on his knee and is therefore likely to miss the start of the season. The franchise announced this in an official statement.

Ball will undergo an arthroscopic debridement scheduled for next week on September 28th. The aim is to remove loose objects or dead tissue in the left knee. The 24-year-old should be examined again in four to six weeks.

The point guard’s knee has been bothering him for a long time. In January he had to have an operation on the meniscus, after which the rehabilitation did not go as planned. Instead, there were repeated setbacks in the healing process.

Even in the summer, Ball could not train without pain, according to ESPN he met with several specialists to discuss how to proceed. Now the decision was made to have another surgery.

Due to knee problems, Ball only played 35 games last season. In the first months of the season he played an important role with 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists with a three-point quota of 42.3 percent and his strong defense with the Bulls’ strong start to the season.
