Solheim Cup
The first tournament was held in 1990, and then it was played in various locations in even-numbered years until 2002. After the Ryder Cup schedule was changed, it has been held in odd-numbered years since 2003 to avoid date conflicts.
The tournament is played over three days with a total of twenty-eight matches: eight foursomes, eight fourballs and twelve singles on the last day. This is exactly equivalent to the format of the Ryder. The program of social and sports events organized to celebrate this visit is sponsored by the Territorial Delegation of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía in Granada.
It is worth highlighting the participation in it of women golf professionals, a group that is currently claiming its equality with male professionals, as is the case in other sports.
