“The Warriors star most likely to leave is him”

After having already deplored some regrettable losses this summer, the Warriors will have to prepare for other major departures in the months to come. An important player of the team would even hold the rope to leave the Bay during the next off-season!

Certainly, seeing soldiers like Otto Porter Jr., Gary Payton II, Nemanja Bjelica or Juan Toscano-Anderson packing their bags was something to grieve them. However, the Warriors could at the same time be satisfied with having been able to retain their main strengths following the title won last June. Indeed, Steve Kerr’s five major should not undergo alterations before the start of the season.

On the other hand, the front office of the Dubs will certainly have to make decisions with serious consequences in the months to come, and resign itself to losing a major element next summer. Indeed, between the exorbitant extensions of Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, and the demand for a raise in Draymond Green, it will be necessary to decide. One of them already appears to be the most likely to bear the brunt of this delicate context.

Jordan Poole destined to leave the Warriors in a year?

Interviewed by Sean Deveney from Heavy.com On the Golden State roster situation, an unnamed Western Conference executive believes that Jordan Poole is the key player most likely to pack up:

Poole could do a (Harrison) Barnes shot. He was able to show what he was capable of when everyone was injured and the team was bad, but he fell back in the rotation when Klay came back and everyone was talking about Wiggins.

It will all depend on how they handle his contractual situation. But if he ends up feeling like they don’t want him, then yeah, he’s the most likely to go somewhere else, like Barnes did. Of course, they replaced Barnes with Durant. Maybe they’ll do the same with Poole.

While waiting to know the replacement leads concerning him, Poole seems in any case destined for exile.

A trend that was already emerging within the league a few weeks ago, and which seems more and more credible following this statement. Another name in the hot seat, Wiggins should meanwhile be retained by its leaders as far as possible:

Wiggins is more of the opposite version of Harrison Barnes, given that Barnes won rings early in his career, and he wanted to get a bigger role and become a star. He got what he wanted on bad teams, and now he’s like, “Damn, I’d like to win again. Wiggins went the opposite way. He would rather stay with the Warriors if they pay him well.

A plausible scenario at the moment, but which is of course likely to evolve according to everyone’s performance this season!

With his background similar to that of Harrison Barnes, Jordan Poole may well be looking to take off away from Golden State next year. For this, he will still have to continue his progress with the Warriors, and contribute to their success!
