With the expected presence of around a thousand athletes, this Friday, September 16, the second edition of the ‘Senior Games Mexico 2022’ will start in the city of León.
This event will be held from September 15 to 18 at the Enrique Fernández Martínez sports facilities and other venues such as the El Bosque golf course and Los Paraísos Squash Center, to name a few.
The contest is for adults over 40 years of age and the participation of athletes from various parts of the Mexican Republic and even the United States is expected.
It will compete in disciplines such as athletics (walking and running), chess, karate, 3×3 basketball, tennis, pickleball (racket sport that combines tennis, paddle tennis, badminton and pingpong), soccer, golf, swimming, judo, taichichuan, triathlon Indoor, volleyball, table tennis and squash.
The Senior Games Mexico arrived in our country in 2018 with the participation of 250 athletes who represented ten entities of the country and it was played in twelve disciplines.
But due to the pandemic, the second edition will take place until 2022 with a top-level ambassador, with the Mexican Olympic judoka Vanessa Zambotti in charge of promoting these games.
The Senior Games Mexico 2022 expect to bring together about a thousand athletes and counting their companions, about 3 thousand attendees in total are calculated.
According to the schedule, this Thursday the arrival of the delegations is expected, while on Friday everything will start at 7:00 am with athletics, golf, tennis, swimming and walking.
And for Saturday and Sunday the contest will continue with different disciplines.
