The second day of the Special Olympics NRW Games is all about training for the Budokan Hünxe judoka.
Almost all of the judoka involved in the games meet in the Hardtberghalle for a joint training session. Actually, the bronze medalist from Tokyo, Karl-Richard Frey, should lead the training. Unfortunately, he had to go to Italy for a short-term competition. But that doesn’t detract from the good mood during free practice.
Whether big or small, loud or quiet, experienced judoka or newcomer, everyone is there with great enthusiasm. The loving combative togetherness is wonderful to watch. The experienced judoka are very considerate and support the newcomers with tips, tricks and tricks, and thus help them in their further development. The younger judoka can contribute as much as they can and thus learn to approach their tasks with ambition and to persevere.
The training is characterized by heartfelt ambition and even judoka of the same strength don’t give each other anything, but treat each other with great respect and caution. There is no “against each other” but only a strong togetherness, from which everyone really draws their strength for upcoming competitions.
Tomorrow the competitions for competition classes II and III will start and those who trained together today will stand together on the mat tomorrow, deliver great, exciting competitions and cheer on each other.
Together we are strong!
