Basketball is one of the sports that generates the greatest expectation in the XXIX National University Games that take place in Cali. This Tuesday (09.27.2022) the first day of the contest was held at the Evangelista Mora Coliseum, in which the Universidad del Magdalena won 72-45 over the Universidad de Los Andes, with a great team game.
The difference was surprised by the quality of Uniandes players; but, Ángelo Cabrera and David Valera were immense on the sides of the coastal cast, directed by Alfredo Valdelamar.

“I’m happy to start this tournament with an important win; this generates more security for the boys; It will always be key to start by winning the first game; We predict that the competition will grow, the two remaining rivals are very good teams and we hope to reach the finals”, Valdelamar said.
Regarding Uniandes, he expressed: “Doing an analysis of the team is very good; Suddenly they did not wait for the defensive proposal that we presented to them at the time, and I think they could not react; and when they wanted to do it, the team had already taken an advantage of 15 or 17 points, but we held on, I insist a lot on what defense is, I build my work based on a transition from defense to attack and today it worked for us”.

As for Evangelista Mora, he said that “this scenario lately has the professional championship; we have had several bubbles here, we know that it meets all the requirements and guidelines to develop these skills. I come to Cali a lot because sports move a lot here, not just basketball; this is an epicenter of sports in the country, pleasant, obviously that warmth, but best of all is that at night it cools down and one can sleep tasty”.
