Usual appointment of the second week in Grand Slam, the wheelchair tennis event started Wednesday at the‘US Open. In men, only one Blue is in the table. Nicholas Peifer started well against the Chilean Alexander Cataldo. A formality for the 31-year-old who won 6-2, 6-4 and who found the Japanese on Thursday Tokito Oda in quarters. Once again solid, the Alsatian won 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to rush on Alfie Hewett (n°2) in half. This Friday, on court 9, the Britannqiue was superior (6-3, 6-1 in 1h11).

As a reminder, Stephane Houdet is suspended until March 2023 for an anti-doping rule violation. Two fold, Nicholas Peifer therefore had to find a new partner. Among the ladies, Pauline Deroulede was living his first Grand Slam tournament. A moment of emotion for the young woman, who benefits from an expanded roster of 16 players now. Logically, she received a wild card to compete in the event after good results. She lost this Wednesday against the German Katharina Kruger 6-2, 7-5. Fun fact, she was playing doubles with her executioner. The Franco-German tandem gave in against the Zhu/Tanaka pair.
