Charleroi lost 2-1 to Saint-Trond on Saturday in the 12th day of the Jupiler Pro League. The Zebras thus see the Canaries overtake them in the standings. STVV is 10th with 16 points, 1 more than Sporting Hainaut, 11th after 3/15. In the first period, Shinji Kagawa opened the scoring with a technical corner which he scored in one time (12th). After this goal, the Carolos doubled in intensity, but failed to penetrate the penalty area of the Canaries.
Back on the lawn, the scenario of the meeting remained the same. Charleroi retained possession, but only Saint-Trond managed to create danger. This trend was confirmed with Frank Boya’s counter-attack who crossed half the pitch alone and cheated on the goalkeeper (68′). In the last minutes, Charleroi finally managed to find the opposing nets with a strike from Amirhossein Hosseinzadeh (90 + 2nd).
At the same time, Eupen lost heavily 5-1 to Cercle Brugge at the Jan Breydel stadium.
The Brugeois scored three goals in just 14 minutes, the first on a header from Ahoueke Denkey (25th), the second on a collective action concluded with a fine shot from Thibo Somers (30th) and the third with a deflection in one time of Ayase Ueda (39th). At the end of the first period, Eupen obtained a penalty that Stef Peeters converted into a goal (44th).
After the break, Dino Hotic missed a penalty (71st) for Cercle but that did not destabilize the team. Ahoueke Denkey, in great shape, managed to score two additional goals (77th, 86th) and end this meeting with a hat-trick.
With this victory, the Cercle de Bruges goes 12th with 12 points. Eupen is in 17th and penultimate place in the standings with 9 points
