After a few weeks of rest, hard training and optimal preparation for the follow-up games, 2DA Smashing Wijchen was allowed to play a home game again after four away games. This home game was played against GSBC AMOR.
As usual, at every home game we have our moment where we all have a nice dinner. After the joint meal we have the warm-up and at 7:00 pm sharp we start with the competitions. We started this match with the men’s doubles of Timo – Yannic against Marco Oosterhaven – Rik Wilbers. The gentlemen of Smashing could not quite reach their level and unfortunately lost this match in two sets with 22-24 and 14-21. The ladies, on the other hand, won the match. Lieke – Maureen won the women’s doubles with a strong and solid game with a final score of 21-14 and 21-10. Points between Smashing and Amor were therefore divided after the doubles.
After the doubles, the singles came onto the track. The ankles were all won very convincingly by Smashing.

Maureen – Meike Brul: 21-12/21-19
After the ankles, the score was 5-1 in favor of Smashing, but Smashing is not Smashing by staying hungry and racking up more points. The goal was clear, but now the execution. And that performance was there!
Both mixed doubles were won. One clever with a strong game and the other, admittedly due to the opponent’s resignation, but also this match Smashing was fierce in the starting blocks and there was very strong play. The first mixed doubles was Teun – Ella against Rik Wilbers – Marjolein Stam: 21-10 and 21-2 (withdrawal from AMOR). The second mixed doubles was played by Timo – Leonie against Riemco Hof – Jamie Logt: 21-19 and 21-9.
A strong playing Smashing managed to take the game 7-1 and widen the gap with GSBC AMOR. Smashing even managed to move up one place in the ranking, which means that we are now also above Nutri-Dynamics Hoornse BV. With 4 points ahead of Hoornse BV we have to face BC Drop Shot next week and the week after Hoornse himself.
Both games are home games starting at 7:00 PM in our always familiar hall.
