As part of the calibration of 50 years of relations between China and Benin, a badminton competition called “Open 50 years of China-Benin friendship”. At the end of a day of competition, the best were gratified. The winners in the senior women’s and men’s categories received one motorcycle each.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Sino-Beninese relations, the Chinese Embassy in Benin through the Chinese Cultural Center (CCC) organized several cultural and sports activities. During these activities, there is a badminton competition named “Open 50 years of China-Benin friendship”. A competition that the Chinese Cultural Center initiated in partnership with the Benin Badminton Federation and which brought together the cadet categories U15-U15 girls and boys then the senior U19-senior ladies and men as well as the veteran teams from China and Benin for a brewing meeting. At this level, Benin was the winner by beating China 3-2.

At the end of the competition, in the U15-17 Girls category, it was Bénédicte Dhossou who was crowned ahead of Blessing Atchadé (2nd). Ordène Faro Dosh and Cyrielle Dossou finished bronze medalists. Among the senior ladies, Pernelle Fabossou won first prize (the motorcycle) ahead of Flora Kpogbemabou. Fabossou Ilari and Ruth Zannou settled for bronze. Among the men, the bike was won by Kpanou Carlos who beat in the final (2-1) Fano Dosh Oswald. Gédéon Montcho and Ahouanganssi Carlos take bronze. Finally, the U15-U17 boys competition was won by the young Abissi Yan who stole the show from Bassa Jérédi (2nd), Sounouvou Pacôme and Kpanou Lewis (3rd). Objective achieved by the Chinese Cultural Center and the Beninese Badminton Federation which, through this tournament, put the athletes on their feet. For the Chinese Ambassador to Benin, the bet has been won. He recalled the good relationship that exists between the two countries and always promises to support Beninese sport, particularly badminton and other cultural activities.
