The 2022 MotoGP standings have a new peak after the 2022 Australian MotoGP. Francesco Bagnaia, the ruler, Fabio Quartararo, was kicked out.
In the race at the Phillip Island Circuit, Sunday (16/10/2022) morning WIB, Bagnaia, who had mastered the leading position, finally had to settle for third place.
Because, the Ducati rider was overtaken by Alex Rins and Marc Marquez on the last lap. Rins finally won, followed by Marquez who was on the third podium.

Even though he failed to win, Bagnaia could at least smile widely because his closest competitor in the race for world champion, Quartararo, failed to finish due to a crash on the 11th lap.
Thus, Bagnaia leads the standings for the first time this season with 233 points, 14 points ahead of Quartararo in second place with 219 points. Quartararo has been at the top since the fifth series in Portugal.
Quartararo, who has failed to score three points from the last four races, should be worried. Because with two races remaining, Bagnaia can become world champion if he wins the Malaysian MotoGP race next week.
In third position is Aleix Espargaro who maintains his chances of becoming world champion, after finishing ninth. The Aprilia racer has 206 points.
In fourth place is Enea Bastianini with 191 points, followed by Jack Miller with 179 points.
