Beerschot loses shared leader position against an attacking RWDM | Challenger Pro League 2022/2023

RWDM picks up the thread again. After two frustrating losses, it was able to book another satisfying 2-0 win against Beerschot. The Beerschot fans who traveled along were disappointed. The purple shirts left a shared lead with the RSCA Futures on the field in Molenbeek.

The Edmond Machtens stadium breathed a sigh of relief today. After 90 minutes of fighting Beerschot, RWDM was able to collect its first points in three weeks.

Luke Plange opened the scoring just before half time. After a shot by Youssef Challouk was saved by Bill Lathouwers, Plange was immediately at the forefront of pushing the ball against the net. RWDM was able to go into the break with a lead.

After the hour, Vincent Euvrard’s troops doubled their lead. Mickaël Biron took advantage of a big mistake by Jan Van den Bergh, who gave the ball as a gift. Biron could only hit the target and finished it off cold-blooded.

Despite their dominance in the field, the visitors were unable to force a connecting goal afterwards. Beerschot is stuck on 13 points and saw a shared leader position with the U23 of Anderlecht disappear in the trash. RWDM himself is gasping in the neck of the Rats.
