“Carnival summit”: Cologne has nothing to smile about in Mainz

The duel between the two carnival strongholds of Mainz and Cologne opened the 11th matchday of the Bundesliga. For the Cologne team, however, the encounter was anything but a pleasure.
The ball bounced in the 1.FC Köln net a total of seven times during Friday night’s game. However, the video referee refused to recognize two goals from FSV Mainz 05. But the 0:5 was still steep enough to make the people of Cologne stop laughing at the top of the carnival strongholds.
Mainz defeated the home curse
For Mainz, who celebrated their last home win on April 30 in a 3-1 win over FC Bayern, it was their third win in six days after beating Werder Bremen 2-0 and winning the cup 3-0 at VfB Lübeck . In addition, the 05ers finally gave up their curse at home and jumped into a place in the Champions League, at least for one night. Two weeks after the 5-2 defeat in Gladbach, FC suffered another tough away defeat and found themselves in the top middle of the table.
Marcus Ingvartsen with a penalty kick (11th), Dominik Kohr (35th), Anton Stach (40th), Aaron Martin Caricol (73rd) and Karim Onisiwo (83rd) scored the clear FSV victory before the eyes of national coach Hansi Flick out of here. FC had to play outnumbered for more than an hour after Luca Kilian saw the yellow-red card for repeated foul play (28th).
