Casademont Zaragoza women’s proud defeat against Valencia

Despite the high complexity of winning this Wednesday on the Valencia Basket court, the women’s Casademont Zaragoza had a chance of making it to the end. The Aragonese team, which was unable to surprise a rival with higher quality in its squad, wasted pride, character and capacity for sacrifice, but could not avoid the expected final defeat (63-58), the first of this season. Carlos Cantero’s players knew how to suffer in several phases of the match, especially at the beginning of the second act, and opted for victory until the last minutes.

In the third quarter, Casademont Zaragoza tried to close the gap and reduce the deficit below double digits. In fact, the visitors prevailed in this part, but until now they it had been impossible to reduce the Valencian income, which fluctuated practically the entire match between 10 and 15 points. He got it with just over five minutes to go, thanks to a sensational basket to the hoop by Vega Gimeno that put Casademont to eight. Valencia Basket, however, imposed its greatest capacity and did not allow itself to be surprised until closing the final victory (63-58).
