Para athletes from the League of Visually Impaired Quindío, Lina María Arbeláez Duque, María Fernanda Zapata Manjarres and Brian Zuleta Tobón, along with their coach Juan Manuel González, are participating in the “Concentration of the Colombian youth judo team”, which It takes place from October 15 at the High Performance Center in the city of Bogotá, and will run until the 27th of the same month.
“It is a very important call because the team that will possibly be in the Youth Parapan American Games in Bogotá 2023 has been selected, an event where the Paralympic cycle begins for athletes with visual disabilities,” said Juan Manuel González, departmental coach of visual judo.
It should be noted that the athlete ‘Salvavidas’ María Fernanda Zapata Manjarres is part of the team that will participate in the Parapan American Open of Canada, which seeks points for the world ranking, an event that will also count towards participation in the Parapan American Games for Seniors in Santiago de Chile in 2023, and which will also award points for qualifying for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
