For the first time in many years, the Bundesliga judokas from KSV Esslingen did not make it into the final round. Coach Carsten Finkbeiner explains why the team could only hope for a sporting miracle in the end.
It is the last fight of this Bundesliga season that the judokas from KSV Esslingen will fight on Saturday (5 p.m.) at JC Samurai Offenbach. “But isn’t the main round over?” Some of those interested in sports are now asking themselves. Before the final meeting, the Esslingers are in third place – and can no longer reach the round of the top four. This sudden end is unusual because KSV has always been one of the regulars in the final round in recent years. In an interview, coach Carsten Finkbeiner explains why things will be different in 2022 and how the club looks to the future.
