Holidays in South Tyrol for design lovers and Lambrusco is back

Visit and order

A new design retreat, the most coveted pigeon in the world and the comeback of the Lambrusco: things that enrich life.

Family affair: “Altherrundalherr” re-produces Alfred Altherr’s legacy

Alfred Altherr Junior is a forgotten protagonist of Swiss design history whose work is being rediscovered today: granddaughter Johanna is having this table, a prototype from the 1960s, and other designs from his estate produced as a re-edition in Zurich.

Sparkling: The Lambrusco is back!

After being ridiculed as the “Coca-Cola of wines” for its sweetness and fizz, a younger generation of winemakers is now turning to Lambrusco again. In Germany, for example, Maison Manesse co-founder Miguel Ledesma launched his own Pronto Lambrusco Rosso together with the graphic designer Kathrin von Niederhäuser (Studio Pronto), Roger Baumann from RebWein and the Azienda Agricola Fondo Bozzole. It’s not just visually strong.

Das Anders, a design retreat in South Tyrol

Andreas Plattner is the successor to his parents’ old South Tyrolean mountain hotel and does everything “differently”: the classic hotel gives way to a spectacular new building designed by the South Tyrolean architect Martin Gruber, with 50 beds and seven suites.

Trusted Relic: A Presentable Guide to Montamont

The printed travel guide seems like a remnant from bygone times. In this world that is changing so rapidly in terms of climate, pandemics and politics, who trusts the printed word? And yet he is more crisis-resistant than expected. And can even be zeitgeisty. Such is the Montamont-Vorarlberg Guide from the Bureau Rabensteiner design studio, whose unique travel destinations between Lech and Zuoz are optimally tailored to the needs of the net generation.

Neurosis fashion: everyone wants the pigeon bag by JW Anderson

In fact, the British label JW Anderson has managed to reconcile the fashion world with the “rats of the air”. Even more! She’s now practically cooing around a life-size, 3D printed pigeon that’s being carried as a clutch.

Flintstone Futurism: Futuristic candles inspired by the past

Japanese artist Kentaro Yamada thinks Neanderthals created a highly developed civilization, and in their name creates candles that smell more refined than anything known to Homo sapiens.

Smooth thing: really nice silk pajamas for women

Francesca Ruffini has complained that nightwear for women serves to seduce and is only intended for the bedroom. Or stale. Men’s models, on the other hand, with their elegant, austere cuts, are even good for relaxing in company. And of course with style. Again this disadvantage! So the Comerin commissioned men’s pajamas in her hometown that are tailored to the female body. And finally, women can indulge in decadence in silk pajamas worth a thousand francs.
