“I’m not going to jump to the ceiling”, tempers Haise, praising the “state of mind” of his players

The Lensois coach takes stock after the 3-0 victory over Toulouse on Friday evening. Success which allows the Sang et Or to consolidate their second place in the L1.

Franck Haise (Lens coach, Toulouse 3-0 winner) : «We started pretty well but we could have been fairer, especially offensively, and at the end we made some bad choices. We put on more intense pressing for the second period. We were more fair technically and on our transitions. We must not fall asleep, we must continue to work, continue to ensure that the entrants are as hungry, that the incumbents start well… We must remain very demanding. I’m obviously delighted that we have 30 points. I’m happy for the team.

What I like is to see this state of mind of the players. There are egos but the collective takes precedence. The players take their responsibilities and they take them well. When there are failures, it is together. Great things have been happening at the club since we came back, but I have to be measured. I’m not going to jump to the ceiling! I will release the pressure only after the 38th day. We have to continue to play our football. (on defensive solidity) We knew that to be hyperregular and constant, it was a line of work to be more solid and more efficient and we are. It was a necessary step to progress.»
