The timing of the football match which was held at night was highlighted by the aftermath of the Kanjuruhan tragedy. Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR RI Dede Yusuf said he had received a letter that the police asked for the match schedule to be moved forward.
“Every event there is a briefing. At the briefing, everyone agreed. For example, I received a letter that the police had asked to advance the match schedule from 8 o’clock to the afternoon,” said Dede Yusuf in a perspective discussion, Monday (3/10/2020). 2022).
Dede Yusuf said PSSI agreed to move the schedule forward, but PT Liga Indonesia Baru (PT LIB) refused. Dede Yusuf said it was said that this rejection was due to the high TV rating at night.
“PSSI agreed, but the league said no, it had to be on schedule. Because it is said, it is still said that we cannot say that the TV rating is highest at night. So this is also a question of whether the league is determined by TV ratings,” he said.
Dede Yusuf said that his party would summon a private TV broadcasting the match. According to him, several things related to the rating to the location of the match will be asked.
“That’s why we will also call the TV party who will broadcast in this case maybe a private station. Anyway, we will call and we will ask why a football match containing tens of thousands of people with conditions that say might be troublesome if something happens, it must be forced at night, because that night there were many technical problems that could not be controlled if something happened, we also need to ask,” said Dede Yusuf.
“We will also ask, why a match between two big opponents, why must it be done at home. For whatever, there is Persibaya or there is no Persibaya whose name is losing and winning is bound to happen. riots, maybe coming just to hug the players with the coach, crying, but because the security briefing just gathered in one place, you go in,” he continued.
Proof of Police Proposal Rejected
It was previously known that the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud Md said that the police had anticipated the vulnerability of the match by requesting an acceleration of the match, but it was rejected. This is evidence that the police’s proposal was rejected.

Malang Police asked for this match to be accelerated to the afternoon. The reason in the letter was stated purely because of security.
“In connection with the above reference, I hereby request your assistance to the Arema FC Panpel in submitting a request for a change in the schedule for the 2022 BRI Liga 1 football match to PT Liga Indonesia regarding the planned soccer match between Arema FC vs. Persebaya on Saturday, October 1st. 2022, which was originally scheduled to play at 20.00 WIB, should be submitted to 15.30 WIB with security considerations,” reads the letter from the Malang Police Chief.
The response of PT Liga Indonesia Baru, in a letter signed by the President Director Akhmad Hadian Lukita as of 19 September 2022, according to Mahfud Md. PT Liga Indonesia Baru still wants this match to be held on schedule while asking the Arema FC Panpel to coordinate optimally with the police.
