The President of the Turkish Judo Federation, Sezer Huysuz, made statements on the goals of the national judokas in the upcoming tournaments.

Turkish Judo Federation chairman Sezer Huysuz said national judoists are fighting to win the right to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

President Sezer Huysuz evaluated the Grand Slam in Abu Dhabi, the U23 European Championship in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Grand Slam tournaments in Azerbaijan.

Stressing the importance of the tournaments where national teams will compete for points on their journey to Paris 2024, Huysuz said: “After this period, our athletes are trying to achieve the success of representing our country at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, by getting to the top 22 in the world rankings with all the points they got in international activities.” said.

“After Abu Dhabi, the Azerbaijan Grand Slam will take place next week. After that we have a group that will be camping in Japan. One of our squads will go to the European Squads Championship. The season isn’t over yet, the second period has started and while our preparations for 2023 are in full swing, our squad will leave tomorrow for the U23 European Championship in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We’re going to Bosnia with a nice group and the medals that are won there give our children confidence. Our young people have the chance to place themselves in the 2024 squad.
