Tipuric capitaine

Flanker Justin Tipuric was named captain after fly-half Dan Biggar withdrew through injury.

Tipuric (33, 85 caps) missed all of last season with a shoulder injury sustained during a preparation game for the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa in June 2021.

He had already captained the selection against Uruguay at the 2019 World Cup and in a match against Georgia a year later.

Tipuric was preferred as captain to second line Alun Wyn Jones who held that title until a serious shoulder injury a year ago when Dan Biggar took over.

Besides Biggar and Lake, Wales are also without full-back Liam Williams, center Johnny Williams, props Wyn Jones and Leon Brown, second row Seb Davies, and third row Josh Navidi and Taine Basham.

Full-backs George North, Leigh Halfpenny, Josh Adams, Alex Cuthbert and Gareth Anscombe also have minor physical issues to deal with before facing the All-Blacks.
