At this year’s district championship for seniors and the associated 2nd Lüner Rüschkamp Cup at LSV Judo, ten participating judoka from the 1st JJJC Lünen came together to get involved in the fights.
Miriam Sawallich (-63 kg) competed in the women’s category, winning the first fight after a few seconds with a shoulder throw. In the encounter that followed, she met an opponent from Kamen, with whom she fought a long, balanced fight, which Sawallich ended prematurely with a throwing technique. Most recently, she won with a hold, which gave her the gold medal.
Kevin Schäfer was represented in the men’s heavy weight class -73 kg. He first met a training colleague from a friendly club, who unfortunately was able to defeat him in the end. In the consolation round, his opponent was similarly strong, Schäfer showed good approaches, but then dropped out because he collected several penalties.
Tim Trittel and Timo Debelius both fought in the 100+ kg category. Debelius lost his first three fights to a throwing technique, despite showing several good throwing attempts. Trittel was successful in the first fight with a lifting technique. Unfortunately he was defeated in the second fight, but was able to confidently decide the third encounter with a shoulder throw. When the two club-mates met, Trittel’s experience prevailed, earning him the gold medal while Debelius narrowly missed out on the podium in fifth place.
There were over 150 participants in the U11 age group, so every child had the chance to have several fights.
Nikola Bertele (-30 kg) unfortunately underestimated her first opponent and was defeated in the hold. In the subsequent fight for third place, however, she caught up and won the fight with several well-placed throws.
Felizitas Kolisko (-22 kg) fought according to the “best of three” system against the same opponent. Although she was slightly inferior both times, she showed significantly more stability and better approaches than at the beginning of her first year of competition. Lina Rüping (-26 kg) initially met an equal opponent, but in the end she won by the referee’s decision because she attacked more actively. After that she won once, in which she followed up directly to the handle after a throwing technique. She won the next fight completely safely with several hip throws, before she won again in the last encounter by a judge’s decision. So Lina really deserved the gold medal.
Jana Eckey, who competed in her first tournament in the under 40 kg class, was also faced with an equal fighter at the beginning. She showed very well what she had learned in training and was anything but inferior. As her opponent managed to throw her to the side once, Jana lost just before the end of the fight time. The second fight was similar. Again the fight lasted almost until the end of the fight time, Jana made great attempts, but lost a throw in the end.
In the U15, the 1. JJJC Lünen was represented by Lars Klinke and Fabian Krause, both of whom competed in the weight class up to 37 kg. Lars encountered a very strong opponent at the beginning, whom he held up well, but was thrown by him in the end. It was similar with Fabian. Unfortunately, his numerous approaches were not enough. Since he had injured himself in his fight, he could no longer compete and was therefore eliminated. Lars fought for third place where he showed his fighting spirit and elegantly won the fight with a locking technique.
All in all, everyone at this tournament has shown good performances and also made progress that can be built on, the trainer sums up.
