Mosakhlishvili, from Famu, was one step away from the bronze

The Spanish judoka of Georgian origin Tristani Mosakhlishvili lost yesterday the fight for the bronze medal, in the category of -90 kilos, against the Georgian Lasha Bekauri in the world championships that are held in Tashkent. The Famu judoka from Vigo, who received Spanish nationality earlier this year, initially competed in group D, beating the Romanian Alex Cret, the Hungarian Krisztian Toth and the Ukrainian Stanislav Gunchenko. In the group final, he lost to Georgian Luka Maisuradze. In the repechage, Mosakhlishvili earned the right to fight for bronze by defeating Brazilian Marcelo Gomes.

The young Ai Tsunoda was not so lucky and, after being crowned world and European junior champion this year in the category of up to 70 kilos, she fell in the first match of the absolute World Cup against the Polish Katarzyna Sobierajska and was eliminated.
