NFL: summary of the 1 p.m. clashes, including the Ravens’ loss against the Giants

The surprising New York Giants signed a fifth victory this season by coming back in the 4th quarter against the Baltimore Ravens to win 24 to 20, early Sunday afternoon.

The Ravens (3-3) were up 20-10 late in the game, but Lamar Jackson had an interception and a fumble to give the Giants (5-1) a comeback in the final minutes .

Saquon Barkley scored the game-winning touchdown with just under two minutes to play. The running back finished the game with 83 rushing yards on 22 carries.

Daniel Jones was effective completing 19 of 27 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns. The quarterback distributed the ball to eight different receivers. Daniel Bellinger was his favorite target with five catches for 38 yards and a touchdown.

It’s another disappointing result for the Ravens who blew a 4th quarter lead in their three losses this season. Lamar Jackson completed 17 of 32 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown pass to Mark Andrews, who finished the game with 106 yards. Jackson added 77 yards rushing, while Kenyan Drake stood out with 119 yards on just 10 carries.

The Falcons surprise the best defense in the league

Marcus Mariota threw two touchdown passes and ran for another major against the NFL’s best defense, leading the Atlanta Falcons to a 28-14 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Mariota completed his first 13 assists for the Falcons (3-3). He threw his only incomplete pass of the day with 11 minutes left in the game. He finished with 129 yards in Atlanta’s conservative passing game, and also rushed for 50 yards on six carries.

The Niners (3-3) couldn’t get over two interceptions from Jimmy Garoppolo and a fumble that was returned for a touchdown.

Kyle Pitts scored his first touchdown of the season and only the second of his 22-game career.

Veteran MyCole Pruitt, who was promoted from the practice squad for the game, received Mariota’s other touchdown pass.

Atlanta’s defense outplayed the Niners unit, making it difficult for Garoppolo, limiting San Francisco to 50 rushing yards.

Burrow and Chase rediscover their synergy

Joe Burrow joined Ja’Marr Chase for 60 yards for the game-clinching touchdown with 1:57 to go in a 30-26 Cincinnati Bengals win over the New Orleans Saints at Caesars Superdome.

The duo had great success last season but weren’t as prolific in the present, until today. The Bengals (3-3) quarterback completed 28 of 37 passes for 300 yards, three touchdowns and a stunning 19-yard run into the end zone.

Chase finished his day with seven catches, two touchdowns and 132 yards.

The Saints’ record is now down to 2-4 after squandering two leads and strong individual performances on offense, including Alvin Kamara, who had 99 yards on 19 catches. Rashid Shaheed scored the first offensive touchdown of his career on a 44-yard play.

Saints quarterback Andy Dalton, formerly of the Bengals, was 17-for-31 for 162 yards, while kicker Wil Lutz had four field goals.
